The Asahi Pentax ES II, introduced in 1973, was one of the most advanced M42 screw-mount SLRs ever made. It offers through-the-lens aperture-priority automatic exposure with a stepless electronically controlled shutter — you set the aperture and the camera chooses the shutter speed. As one of the final and most sophisticated M42 Pentax bodies before the K-mount era, it is a landmark of the classic screw-mount system and pairs beautifully with Super-Multi-Coated Takumar lenses.

Mount & Compatibility
This lens uses the universal M42 (42mm screw) mount and is a manual-focus lens. It fits any M42-mount film SLR.
Thanks to the M42 standard, it adapts easily and inexpensively to virtually any modern mirrorless camera (Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Canon RF, Nikon Z, etc.) with a simple M42 adapter, making it a versatile choice for digital shooters.

IMPORTANT — Please read carefully:
The viewfinder has slight haze (this affects only the view through the finder, not your photos). Otherwise the camera works well — the meter, shutter and aperture-priority auto exposure all operate correctly. A battery is required for the electronic shutter.

Pre-owned and working well. The meter operates, the mirror and film chamber are clean. There is slight haze in the viewfinder (see Known Issues). Sold as a set with the mounted Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 28mm f/3.5 wide-angle lens.
