The Style: Unlike many entry-level whiskies that rely partially on bourbon barrels, The GlenDronach 12 is matured for at least 12 years exclusively in premium Spanish Pedro Ximénez (PX) and Oloroso sherry casks. The Presentation: These bottles represent the beloved classic "Original" label styling. The distillery underwent a complete global brand rebrand, updating the bottle shape and dropping the word "Original" from the 12-year expression. This makes the "Original" scripted labels highly recognizable staple pieces for enthusiasts. Tasting Notes: -------------- Nose: Intense, sweet, and elegantly sherried. It features immediate notes of sun-dried raisins, rich fudge, and toffee, evolving into creamy vanilla praline, warm gingerbread, and ripe autumn orchard fruits. Palate: Rich, oily, and mouth-coating. It bursts with caramelized dark brambles, stewed plums, and milk chocolate, beautifully tempered by a mid-palate arrival of drying oak spices, orange zest, and toasted almonds.
