A Pair of Puffins – Handmade Fused Glass Sculptures by Maciej Habrat
Like two quiet souls meeting at the edge of the sea, these puffins embody tenderness, curiosity and shared happiness. There is something irresistibly endearing about them—a delicate balance of innocence, humour and quiet elegance. Their presence brings not only colour to an interior, but also a gentle reminder that beauty often lies in life's simplest moments.
Standing side by side, they seem to share a silent conversation. One appears gently protective, the other quietly curious, together creating a story of companionship, trust and joy. Their playful character is expressed with remarkable subtlety, making them smile-inducing without ever becoming whimsical. Each sculpture is individually handcrafted by Maciej Habrat, a Polish glass artist with over twenty years of experience. Created using the traditional kiln-fusing technique, the sculptures combine luminous opal glass with accents of genuine 24-carat gold, carefully fused into the composition to create depth, delicate textures and ever-changing reflections.
The clean, contemporary lines are softened by the translucent quality of the glass, allowing natural light to become part of the artwork itself. Displayed on a windowsill or in a well-lit interior, the puffins come alive as sunlight passes through the glass, revealing subtle shades and shimmering golden details.
Each sculpture is unique and signed by the artist. The pair is presented in a branded gift box and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Maciej Habrat Atelier was founded in 1997 in Krosno, Poland. All glass works are designed and hand-made in a fusing technique by him. Maciej graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland-the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass. His style is easily recognized in many galleries around the world and some glass objects were exhibited in the Corning Museum of Glass, USA.
TV ARTE has released a documentarty about the family company and every year during the Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt Maciej's masterpieces allure with colors and forms.
