The cut of the blucher originates from the adverse conditions of the early nineteenth century and was conceived to provide the foot with unyielding support and simultaneously ample space under sustained stress. In its manifestation as a Plain Toe Blucher, this historical practicality finds its purest form. The construction strictly requires a large, flawless piece of leather, as the entire front upper manages completely without dividing seams.
The material originates from the Horween Leather Company in Chicago and consists of pure Shell Cordovan. This horsehide undergoes a six-month tanning process in which, using vegetable extracts, it develops its characteristic firmness and that incomparably supple depth.
Crafted on the legendary Barrie last, the shape is characterized by a generous, harmonious volume and a commanding presence. The welted construction anchors the upper to the bottom through a robust, all-around welt. A double oak leather sole completes the foundation and provides a reassuringly firm stance. Every single stitch of this enduring architecture carries a quiet promise of longevity that outlasts the years with consummate elegance.
