This marked the first time in Ardbeg's history that Pinot Noir casks were used for a main distillery release. The choice of New Zealand was a double nod—both to its world-famous Pinot Noir wine production and its legendary, massive population of sheep. The red wine wood completely transforms Ardbeg's signature maritime peat smoke, injecting a deep, tannic complexity and rich berry notes.
