Misa - Porcelana - Miska wucai z dynastii Qing

Chinese Wucai ‘Boys with Horses’ Bowl – Qing Dynasty, 19th Century A finely potted Chinese wucai porcelain bowl dating from the Qing Dynasty (19th century). The exterior is delicately decorated with three playful boys alternating with three horses amongst flowering plants, all painted in vibrant overglaze enamels of iron-red, yellow, green, blue, and black. The rim is highlighted with a fine gilt border, while a scrolling ruyi band decorates the foot. The interior is centred with a charming scene of a young boy playing with a horse, echoing the exterior decoration and creating a balanced and harmonious composition. The lively figures and confident brushwork are characteristic of traditional Chinese wucai decoration. In Chinese culture, boys symbolise prosperity, happiness, and the continuation of the family line, while horses represent success, strength, perseverance, and advancement. Together, these auspicious motifs convey blessings for a flourishing family and a successful future. This bowl is an attractive example of nineteenth-century Chinese wucai porcelain, appreciated for its lively decoration, auspicious symbolism, and elegant proportions. Condition: There is one hairline crack, clearly visible in the photographs. Otherwise, the bowl remains in good antique condition with minor age-related wear and light rubbing to the gilded rim. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description. Dimensions: * Height: 4.5 cm * Diameter: 8.5 cm * Weight: 94 g
