A nice 19th century painting of a young man in a nature setting. There is some retouching and stable craquelure. There is a small area of paint loss in the bottom right corner, as can be seen in the photos. When the painting was purchased at auction is was sold as "circle of George Romney 1734 -1802)". The painting comes with a heavy wooden frame. The frame has been painted with a thick gold paint, which doesn't look very nice, so I would recommend stripping off the paint and then have it gilded or painted, in order to enhance the painting.
