Born in Rome, he studied architecture before dedicating himself fully to painting. Dorazio became known for his vibrant geometric abstractions, characterized by intersecting lines, luminous colors, and a strong sense of rhythm and space. In the late 1940s, he co-founded the Forma 1 group, which promoted abstract art in Italy in opposition to realism. His work was influenced by Constructivism and modern European abstraction, while also developing a highly personal visual language. Dorazio gained international recognition through exhibitions in Europe and the United States and later taught at the University of Pennsylvania. Among his major artistic achievements are his contribution to the renewal of Italian abstraction and his lasting influence on contemporary geometric painting.
