Maria Postea - The Beehive - Szeged-Csongrádi Savings Bank
This is an original watercolor by Romanian artist Maria Postea, depicting a Secession beehive ornament from the Szeged-Csongrádi Savings Bank in Szeged, Hungary. Painted in 2023, the work was created as part of the publishing project "Secession Detail – A Common Heritage", developed within the broader project "Common Heritage – A Tale of Four Cities", organized by the Prin Banat Association.
"Secession Detail – A Common Heritage" explores the shared Art Nouveau heritage of four neighboring cities: Timișoara (Romania), Szeged (Hungary), Subotica (Serbia) and Odesa (Ukraine). The project documents and celebrates architectural details and ornamental elements that reflect the rich Secession and Art Nouveau heritage shared across the region.
