This limited-edition release from Macallan draws inspiration from Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s depiction of nature in architecture, art and design. It was aged in sherry casks, resulting in notes of sweet oak, candied ginger, fresh apples and hints of tea leaf. Nose Opulent nose of rich dried fruits—raisin and fig—woven with polished oak. Red cherry and bright orange lift the aroma, while almonds add a subtle nuttiness and a veil of treacle rounds the scent with velvety sweetness. Palate Sweet oak, raisins, vanilla and ginger, apple and a wisp of leaf tea. Finish An expansive finish that lingers with sweetness and depth: long, richly fruited with raisin and fig, gently spiced by ginger and vanilla, wrapped in polished oak with a treacled glow, and a final whisper of orange zest.
