Wonderfully fruity and fabulously smoky
12-year-old Ardmore finished in a 2nd fill port cask

The sweet, gentle smokiness of the Ardmore immediately conjures images of a hazy Scottish landscape. But just beyond these impressions lies the red, heavy fruitiness of the port, the first inhabitant of this legendary cask. Combined with the fresh fruitiness of Glen Elgin, it conjures the scents of an orchard in late autumn. A wonderful fruit compote of plums, cherries, strawberries, and pickled raisins greets the tongue. Hints of cinnamon and speculoos biscuits warm the palate and, together with the cask strength, create a luxurious mouthfeel that spreads from the tongue to every corner of the mouth. The longer it lingers on the tongue, the more pronounced the pine needle-scented smokiness becomes, blended with notes of roasted walnut and menthol. The finish lingers, dominated by delicate, smoky oak aromas that fade into sweet notes of heavily sugared espresso and melting dark chocolate.
