The 'A' x75 from TEAC is a proven good stereo amplifier with a magical power reserve. This amplifier has some special features which took our interest at the time of purchase e.g direct CD playback (bypassing the preamp tone settings), ability to deal with both MM and MC phono cartridges and the nice tone controls (Bass - Mid - Treble) plus a rotary Loudness control, not just "on" or "off". Finally, the design is based on DC direct coupling in the power amplifier stages, as distinct from capacitor coupling. This has advantages (very wide frequency response with no introduced noise through capacitive coupling).
