Attributed to Augustin Dupré (1748–1833), renowned French engraver and medallist, later appointed Chief Engraver of the Paris Mint under the French Revolution. Obverse: Allegorical scene of women at an altar with Cupid and flames. Reverse: Plain and unfinished (uniface casting), with traces of patina and handwritten “1789”. Material: Cast bronze Diameter: approx. 45 mm Condition: Very fine; attractive dark patina, detailed relief, minor casting irregularities typical of uniface proofs. An early and very fine cast medalic study from the late 18th century, characteristic of Dupré’s refined neoclassical style. Highly collectible and historically significant.
