A rare pair of sculptural gilt bronze candlesticks in the form of stylized birds, attributed to Pierre Caseneuve, a French sculptor of Russian origin active in the 20th century. Both candlesticks bear the name “Caseneuve” engraved on the base, as visible in the photographs. Comparable examples of the same model are known on the French art market and are attributed to Caseneuve, with reported production limited to a very small number of pairs (fewer than 20). The candlesticks are executed in solid bronze with a gilt finish, displaying expressive organic forms and a strong sculptural presence, characteristic of artist-made decorative bronzes rather than industrial production.
