The poems in the book are presented both in Czech translation and in the original German. Zbornaplaz, or Adolf Born & Christian Morgenstern (Slovart, 2009) is a lavish, bibliophile-style publication in which the distinctive artistic voice of Adolf Born plays a central role. His illustrations—characterized by subtle grotesque humor, rich imagination, gentle absurdity, and precise draftsmanship—create an autonomous visual world that engages in an equal dialogue with Morgenstern’s poetry. Born’s sense of wit, irony, and poetic melancholy makes the book an exceptional fusion of literature and visual art, as well as a representative example of his later work. The book itself is practically in excellent condition, with only minor wear to the corners and edges of the cover.
