French Cloisonné & Marble Lamp with KOSMOS Burner Late 19th Century or ca. 1900. An elegant late 19th century lamp combining refined European craftsmanship with oriental-inspired cloisonné decoration. The slender column is richly decorated with vibrant enamel motifs in turquoise, cobalt blue, deep red, green and ivory tones, framed by gilt bronze details and resting on a marble base. The lamp retains its original German 'KOSMOS' burner – a high-quality mechanism widely used in premium oil lamps across Europe during the period. Originally an oil lamp, it has been later converted to electricity (exact date of conversion unknown), while preserving its historic character. The etched glass globe enhances the sculptural presence of the piece, creating a soft, atmospheric light when illuminated. A striking decorative object that bridges antique craftsmanship and timeless interior design. Good antique condition with age-related wear and natural patina. Minor chips underneath the marble base.
