Pair of Japanese Bizen-yaki Hanging Vases (Kake-hanaire) - Signed & Rustic Wabi-sabi Design Item Overview and Origin This is a unique pair of traditional Japanese Bizen-yaki (Bizen ware) hanging flower vases, known as "Kake-hanaire" in the tea ceremony tradition. Originating from Okayama Prefecture, Bizen-yaki is one of Japan's "Six Ancient Kilns" with a history spanning over 800 years. These vases are crafted using the "Yakishime" technique—high-fired stoneware without any artificial glaze. The beautiful surface patterns, including the golden-brown "Goma" (ash glaze) and dark "Koke" (scorch) effects, are natural results of the intense flames and wood ash inside the kiln. Both pieces feature a signed potter's mark on the reverse, showcasing their artisan origin. Their rugged, earthy texture embodies the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-sabi, making them perfect for displaying single seasonal flowers in a minimalist or traditional interior. Dimensions (in cm) Vase A (Left): Approx. 11 cm (Height) x 7 cm (Width) x 3.0 cm (Depth) Vase B (Right): Approx. 10 cm (Height) x 10 cm (Width) x 3.0 cm (Depth) Weight (in grams) Total Weight: Approx. 300 - 400 grams (for the pair) Shipping Method The items will be carefully packed with shock-absorbing materials to ensure safe international transit. We ship via DHL (or EMS depending on the destination) with a tracking number provided. Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
