Chinese pale celadon nephrite jade sculpture Buddha – China – 20th Century On offer is a very special carved homogeneous celadon jade pendant, depicting Buddha in meditating position and seated on his lotus shaped throne. The finish of this thick pendant is great, it has been polished with care which gives I a very smooth and creasy appearance. The carving is really outstanding and very well executed in smallest details, such as throne lotus leaves, Buddha’s face and the attributes he is holding! The back side also shows many fine details in the depicted lotus. A true master piece, very hard to find! Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color.
