KPM Tettau - Serviço de mesa (32) - Porcelana

KPM Tettau – Large Interwar Dinner Service for 10 Persons Germany, circa 1925–1939 An elegant and extensive interwar dinner service produced by Königlich privilegierte Tettau (KPM Tettau), Bavaria, Germany — one of the most respected German porcelain manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This service dates to the interwar period (circa 1925–1939), a time when German porcelain production was characterized by exceptional material quality, refined craftsmanship and generous use of precious materials. Material and decoration: - The service is crafted from exceptionally fine, luminous white porcelain, distinguished by its purity, density and smooth glaze — a hallmark of high‑grade German manufacture of the period. - Decoration is executed in 24‑carat gold, applied generously along the rims and handles. The gilding features a refined ornamental band with floral detailing, typical of formal tableware from the interwar era. - While areas of wear to the gilding are present — particularly on serving pieces and handles — the gold remains visually bright and clearly legible, consistent with age and careful historical use. Set composition (for 10 persons): - 10 dinner plates, diameter approx. 25.7 cm - 11 soup plates, diameter approx. 25.7 cm - Round flat serving platter, diameter approx. 32.5 cm, height approx. 3 cm - Round deep serving platter, diameter approx. 32.4 cm, height approx. 5 cm - Oval serving dish with handles, approx. 29.5 × 26.5 cm, height approx. 2.5 cm - Oval serving dish with handles, approx. 29.5 × 26.5 cm, height approx. 6 cm - Sauce boat, approx. 24 × 14 × 9 cm - Oval serving platter, approx. 25 × 15 × 3 cm - Oval serving platter, approx. 30.5 × 20.5 × 3 cm - Oval serving platter, approx. 39 × 25.5 × 4 cm - Large oval serving platter, approx. 44 × 29 × 4 cm - Soup tureen with lid, diameter approx. 24 cm, width with handles approx. 31.5 cm, height approx. 25 cm (with lid) - Additional tureen (without lid), diameter approx. 20 cm, width with handles approx. 26 cm, height approx. 10 cm A highly complete and impressive banquet‑scale service, far exceeding the standard table setting. Condition: - The porcelain itself is preserved in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or restorations. The glaze remains clean and even throughout. - There is visible wear to the gilding, primarily on serving pieces, soup tureen handles and some plates, which is entirely consistent with the age and intended formal use of an interwar service. Importantly, the gilding remains aesthetically pleasing and vibrant. Collector’s note: Large interwar dinner services of this quality and completeness are increasingly difficult to find. This set represents a fine example of German formal tableware from the interwar period, combining noble materials, traditional craftsmanship and timeless elegance. Equally suitable for collectors, period interiors or ceremonial dining. Shipping and packaging: Due to the size, weight and fragility of this extensive dinner service, shipment will be carried out in three separate parcels, carefully arranged to ensure maximum safety during transport. Each parcel will be professionally packed, with every item individually wrapped and protected using appropriate cushioning materials. This method significantly reduces the risk of damage and is the safest solution for transporting large and valuable porcelain sets. Shipping costs reflect the careful handling, materials and number of parcels required to preserve the condition of the service.
