Four bottles of Blackwood's Botanical Gin 2003, the only gin with a production year. This 2003 is the first vintage. It's very rare, if not one of the few bottles still in circulation, and only a passionate enthusiast like me keeps these bottles. With gin currently booming and many brands experimenting with their botanical recipes to create new and unusual gins, it's good news to know that the Blackwood's Gin brand has invented something completely different. In fact, it's a completely new way of conceiving gin, much more similar to whisky. This isn't surprising at all, considering that Blackwood's Gin is part of the Shetland Whisky Company, producers of the first whisky distilled in Shetland, the northernmost part of the British Isles. All distillation takes place on the Scottish mainland. Blackwood's is a new addition to the Blackwood's Vintage range. It's a dry gin made with botanicals sourced from Shetland. Among these, coriander grown in greenhouses.
