The "Simpsons" themed chess set, officially authorized in 2005, is an out-of-print second-hand peripheral of the series. It has been discontinued for a long time and has very little market circulation. It is a highly collectible item for fans.
The complete set contains 32 character chess pieces, all made of exquisite PVC material, with extremely high degree of paint restoration. Each chess piece corresponds to a classic character in the play: Homer plays the king, Marge plays the queen, Bart plays the bishop, Lisa plays the knight, Krusty plays the castle, and Maggie plays the soldier. The shapes are vivid and cute, and the details are full of ingenuity. The set also comes with an exclusive character-themed chessboard, with a classic orange and yellow color scheme and cartoon line drawing design.
