Blaeu in Amsterdam, c. 1650 A large decorative cartouche at the bottom left bearing the map title and publisher’s address. At the top right is a magnificent coat-of-arms cartouche featuring a dedication to the French scholar Claudio Salmasio (Claude de Saumaise, 1588–1653). The map depicts Greece, including the Peloponnese peninsula, the Ionian Islands, the entire Aegean Sea with the Cyclades and the Dodecanese, as well as parts of the west coast of Asia Minor With german text verso.
