A compact and characterful example of vintage Italian craftsmanship, this Gucci Plus flap shoulder bag exemplifies the refined simplicity that defined the house's 1980s aesthetic. Produced in Italy under the Gucci Plus diffusion line, the piece carries an understated elegance that continues to attract collectors of pre-owned vintage Gucci accessories.
The bag is constructed entirely in textured brown leather, presenting a cross-grain surface that adds depth and tactile interest to the clean, semi-circular silhouette. The front flap closes over a rounded body, secured at centre with a distinctive oval Gucci Plus plaque — a two-tone gold and silver-tone metal badge bearing the "Gucci Plus" script in the hallmark style of the era. Contrast stitching runs along the flap edge and shoulder strap, lending a subtle artisanal quality consistent with Italian leatherwork of the period. The adjustable shoulder strap attaches via a gold-tone clasp and allows comfortable crossbody or shoulder carry. The interior is lined in warm gold-toned fabric with a zip closure at the top.
The compact dimensions make this an ideal evening or daytime bag for essentials, suited to both casual and smart occasions. The clean brown leather construction offers excellent versatility across wardrobes and seasons, while the Gucci Plus plaque provides an unmistakable point of provenance for collectors of 1980s Italian luxury.
Please note that import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the item price or shipping cost. This item will be dispatched promptly upon auction close.
Gucci's commitment to Italian leather artistry, established in Florence in 1921, is evident in every detail of this piece. Vintage Gucci Plus shoulder bags from this period remain highly collectible, appreciated for their honest construction, period-specific hardware, and enduring wearability.
