Ceilão. Jorge VI. 10 Cents 1941 NGC MS64 (Sem preço de reserva)

NGC MS64 1941 Ceylon 10 Cent Coin 1941 CEYLON 10C: Issued in Ceylon (the former colonial name for Sri Lanka) in 1941, with a face value of 10 cents; Ceylon was then a British colony. MS 64: NGC grades it as MS64, Mint State, indicating virtually no circulation wear. It is in excellent condition (64 points), with only very minor factory scratches and well-preserved original luster. Obverse (King's Portrait): Featuring a profile portrait of King George VI wearing a crown. The inscription around the rim indicates the king's title, "GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR OF INDIA," a typical inscription style for British colonial coins during World War II, reflecting the British Empire's suzerainty over its South Asian territories at the time. Reverse (Face Value Side, Second Image) The outer rim bears the name CEYLON, with the face value 10 CENTS prominently displayed in the center. The bottom is inscribed with the year of minting, 1941. The coin is made of silver (50% silver content) and is a small-denomination silver coin in colonial style. Era: World War II (1941), during the British colonial rule of Ceylon. 1941 was on the eve of the Pacific War, and Ceylon was a key British naval supply point in the Indian Ocean. Wartime minting capacity was limited, resulting in a relatively small number of coins remaining from that year. Ceylon gained independence from Britain in 1948 and was later renamed Sri Lanka, at which point this set of George VI portrait coins ceased circulation. From a historical perspective, the coins were minted in 1941, during the escalation of World War II. Ceylon was under British colonial rule at the time, and as a key strategic British outpost in the Indian Ocean, wartime minting capacity was limited, resulting in a relatively small number of surviving coins from that year.
