Um scarce Qur'anic manuscript page on strong handmade paper dated C1280. It contains scripture from chapter 77, Al-Mursalat (Those "Winds" (Emissaries) Sent Forth), v.3-12 which are part of a powerful series of oaths that emphasize the absolute certainty of the Day of Judgment. They describe cosmic cataclysms and announce that the time for accountability has been permanently fixed. It is a dramatic, rhythmic oath-style opening to the chapter, characteristic of the earlier Meccan revelations, prozed for its powerful cadence and apocalyptic imagery.

The script is written in black muhaqaq, which means 'meticulously produced', standardised by Ibn Muglah by casting rules based on the rhombic dot, and which became extremely popular with the Warraqun (professional scribes) for copying the Quran because of its clear, compact nature and ease for writing.
