A Olympus Pen EE-S, lançada em 1962, é uma das câmeras meio-quadro mais encantadoras da era de ouro de óptica compacta do Japão, projetada pelo lendário Yoshihisa Maitani para dobrar suas fotos para 72 quadros em uma bobina padrão de 36 poses. Ela combina uma lente brilhante D.Zuiko de 30mm f/2.8 com 4 elementos com um sistema de exposição totalmente automático de célula de cádmio que não necessita de pilha nenhuma. Seu corpo compacto, fundido em liga de zinc, a tornou uma companheira de viagem favorita por todo o Japão e Europa durante a década de 1960.
