The artist repeatedly pursues the motif of "trees," constructing a restrained screen space through minute lines and subtle overlapping shades.
The screen is composed almost entirely in monotone, expressing depth and atmosphere through carefully layered copperplate lines.
This work was produced in 1983 using the etching technique on paper.
Artist Profile:
After graduating from university in 1953, he started copperplate printmaking in 1957.
After resigning from his employment in 1965, he devoted himself to painting.
He has received high acclaim at major domestic and international exhibitions, such as the Florence International Print Biennale and the Ljubljana International Print Biennale.
