The Canon AE-1 Program (1981) added a full programmed mode to the phenomenally successful AE-1, and went on to become one of the best-selling 35mm SLRs ever made. Its combination of electronic automation with a conventional, satisfying mechanical feel is exactly why so many photographers learned on one — and why they remain in demand today. It uses the Canon FD mount, offered here with the FD 35-105mm f/3.5 zoom.

Functional
The camera powers on and the light meter operates correctly.
The light seals (foam) have been replaced and the viewfinder has been cleaned internally.
Note: the shutter occasionally squeaks. This is the well-known 'Canon cough' of the A-series, caused by dried lubricant in the mirror mechanism. It does not stop the camera working, but it can be quietened by a service if it bothers you.
