Description:

Universal Genève, founded in 1894, is one of the great names of Swiss watchmaking, celebrated for its Polerouter and Compax chronographs. In the 1980s the house also produced slim quartz dress watches for ladies, of which this cushion-shaped reference 543720 is a typical example.

The champagne gold dial has slim applied baton markers, matching gold-tone hands, the Universal Genève signature with the shield emblem at twelve and 'Quartz' at six, framed by a polished gold-tone cushion case with a slim bezel.

The seller records the case as steel on the inspection sheet; the case exterior is gold-tone plated over a stainless steel back, and the watch has been listed as gold-plated. The strap is a black leather replacement.

With a case width of approximately 22 mm, it is a delicate ladies' dress watch from a historic Swiss maker.
