Maria Ruisi — Eclipse · Silver Orbit, 2023 Sculptural 3D Acrylic, Resin & Metallic Pigments on Canvas Unique Original Artwork — 50 × 50 × 3 cm — Ready to Hang Eclipse · Silver Orbit is a unique original work created in 2023 by contemporary artist Maria Ruisi. Built through a research-driven process combining geometry, material and light, the painting develops a powerful visual language around eclipse, orbit, balance and celestial movement. Large circular and semicircular forms intersect with precise vertical and horizontal axes. Deep black and midnight tones create visual weight, while luminous silver metallic pigments introduce reflection and movement. At the centre, a circular element acts almost like a gravitational point: the surrounding forms appear to rotate, intersect and balance around it. The composition evokes orbital trajectories and celestial mechanics without becoming a literal representation of space. Sculptural 3D materiality The work combines acrylic, resin and metallic pigments, constructed through successive applications that give the surface genuine physical presence. The silver areas possess a finely textured appearance that captures surrounding light differently according to the viewing angle. Resin and acrylic contribute depth and structure, while the metallic pigments create subtle variations between matte, luminous and reflective passages. This relationship with light is fundamental to Eclipse · Silver Orbit. From a distance, the work appears rigorous and minimalist; viewed more closely, the collector discovers the complexity of its textures, reliefs and material variations. The deliberately restrained palette of black, white and silver reinforces the architectural character of the composition. The result lies at the intersection of geometric abstraction, sculptural minimalism and contemporary material painting. About the artist Maria Ruisi (b. 1983, Riga, Latvia) is a contemporary artist whose practice brings together artistic creation, research and experimentation with materials. Her work explores relationships between geometry, structure, movement, texture and light. Through layered acrylic, pigments, resin and sculptural surfaces, she creates compositions in which controlled geometric systems interact with the physical behaviour of materials. Rather than functioning simply as decoration, geometry becomes a language through which Ruisi investigates balance, tension, movement and spatial perception. Maria Ruisi is represented by Abstract Art Gallery, Riga. Eclipse · Silver Orbit reveals two distinct personalities: from a distance, a disciplined black, white and silver geometric composition; from close range, a tactile sculptural surface animated by resin, relief and metallic reflections. As surrounding light changes, the silver passages respond subtly, allowing the artwork to continually reveal new details.
