Notably, it is the first Greek color film edited entirely in Greece, marking a significant technological milestone in Greek cinematography.
About Alekos Sakellarios
Alekos Sakellarios (1913–1991) was one of the most influential Greek playwrights, directors, lyricists, and screenwriters. A pioneer of post-war Greek comedy, he shaped the cultural identity of modern Greek theatre and cinema.
His films broke attendance records, many becoming timeless classics still broadcast today.
Over his long career he received numerous Greek and international awards, leaving behind a body of work that remains deeply loved and culturally significant.
An exceptionally rare production manuscript, typewritten and twice signed by Alekos Sakellarios—one of the foundational figures of modern Greek cinema and theatre.
Original film manuscripts from Sakellarios are extremely scarce, especially complete and signed examples.
This piece represents not only an important chapter in Greek film history (Welcome, Dollar being the first Greek color film edited entirely in Greece) but also a unique collectible for cinema historians, archivists, and serious collectors of Greek cultural heritage.
