The Rorota Food Processing Plant, better known as the Prévot Rum Distillery, was founded in 1935 by Georges Prévot. This factory played a key role in the production of rum and sugar in French Guiana, particularly during World War II. It produced rums such as La Cayennaise, Le Coeur de Chauffe, and Les Trois-Lacs. The factory closed in 1988, but left a significant legacy in the history of Cayenne and the region.
