The epitome of a medieval King, he was famous for his feats in hunting, falconry and jousting. These silver pennies are incredible examples of medieval commerce, surviving for over 700 years.
The long cross on the reverse of this coin was an attempt of preventing fraud and was introduced to prevent clipping of the coins.
