PURPLE DREAMS
Fine Art Photography by Inna Etuvgi
“Escaping into the Real world.”
“Purple Dreams,” capturing a dewdrop cradled by sedum flowers and glowing in the first rays of the sun, is a journey into the hidden magic of the morning garden. Though it looks like an abstract dreamscape, this image is a pure reflection of reality—no colors were altered, and no details were added.
This work is part of the collection "Wonderland Under Our Feet." For me, as an artist with aphantasia, these photographs are a form of escapism. But instead of fleeing into an imaginary realm, I escape into the breathtaking complexity of the macro world. It is a transition from the heavy, "made-up" world of human problems to the light and mesmerizing beauty that exists right beneath our feet.
It is an invitation to pause and rediscover the extraordinary nested worlds found within the simplest things.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi artist whose work defines the concept of Cybernetic Animism—a bridge between indigenous Arctic intuition and technical precision. Raised in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, Etuvgi explores the shared "soul" of natural ecosystems and digital algorithms.
Living with Aphantasia—the inability to visualize mental images—Etuvgi uses her camera and Generative AI as a "visual prosthesis" to externalize deep emotional landscapes. Her macro photography magnifies nature’s smallest details, urging a shift from a human-centered worldview to one of interconnectedness.
Internationally recognized as an Arte Laguna Prize finalist (Venice) and a recipient of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee grant, Etuvgi’s work is held in private collections worldwide. As art critic Tabish Khan notes: “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
