A good size cold gilt Thai bronze figure of the Gautama Buddha, measuring circa 29,5cm in height and weighing 1679g, seated cross legged on a low triangular throne, his hands in Bhumisparsha mudra, the left hand resting in his lap with palm facing upwards, the five fingers of his right hand touching the ground in an appeal to the earth goddess Pra Mae Thorani to witness his enlightenment after seven weeks of meditation and torment. Condition: Very good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age. Two tiny nail holes where the figure was probably attached to a wooden base at some point.
