“Flower and Rope" - Numărul #9
Flower and Rope is an intimate exploration of Japanese eroticism through staged photography. The image evokes the traditional aesthetics of the geisha and the kimono, but shifts them into a more ambiguous space—where sensuality is suggested rather than revealed. The rope, present as a symbol of tension, stillness, or restraint, subtly references shibari, fără a recurge la bondage explicit.
There is an echo of Araki in the composition—a tension between the ceremonial and the carnal—but without the transgressive impulse. Instead, it seeks a contained, meditative beauty. The body, both wrapped and exposed, is not here to provoke: it suggests, breathes, resists.
Artist’s Statement:
This series was born from a desire to explore a visual form of eroticism that honors both tradition and the contemporary gaze. I’m drawn to the silence between gesture and skin, to what is shown and what remains withheld. Each photograph is a suspended scene—a visual poem woven through folds, shadows, and longing.
Artwork details:
• Limited Edition: 2/10
Printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Premium Silk Paper and is sold unframed.
Its elegant finish and subtle texture lend a sophisticated appearance, with vibrant, rich colors. The paper’s natural resistance also helps protect the print from fingerprints and scratches.
Each piece is individually numbered and signed, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
The print is carefully rolled, packaged, and shipped via tracked and insured express courier from Spain to destinations worldwide.
About the artist:
I’m Nik Haku, a visual artist and photographer exploring the space between the real and the altered.
My practice blends multiple techniques —primarily photography, complemented by painting— to construct images that move fluidly between mediums. My work spans portraiture and landscapes, beginning with photographic capture and evolving through painting, AI, and digital manipulation. I aim to create visual worlds where memory, identity, and imagined space overlap, dissolving the boundaries between what is seen and what is felt.
