Juan Álvarez Cebrián (1966) - Division of realities
THE STORY BEHIND
This painting features an image divided into three vertical strips, each with its own element and symbolism.
On the left, a pastel-coloured teddy bear stands out against a carmine-red background, evoking the innocence and nostalgia of childhood. In the centre, against a gesso background, there is a graphite drawing of a girl sitting with her back to the viewer on the floor, her hands resting behind her, conveying introspection and vulnerability. On the right, a golden background holds a glass in which a rose rests on water, symbolising beauty and transience. The elements are not connected to one another, but together they form a unified composition that invites reflection on the diversity of human experiences.
