Founded in the town of Klostermühle, Bohemia (now part of the Czech Republic) around 1836, the company was one of the first glass manufacturers to embrace the Art Nouveau style, and became famous for its innovative glass designs and techniques. It gained international acclaim by showcasing its work and winning awards at all the major world exhibitions during the 1890's and the first years of the new century, including the prestigious World’s Fair in Paris.
