Meseck a fost membru al mișcării expresioniste interbelice și a făcut parte din grupul creativ Berlin Secession. Degradat de naziști, este cel mai bine cunoscut pentru lucrările sale pe Faustul lui Goethe și Prometeu. Cea mai mare parte a operei sale a fost distrusă la sfârșitul celui de-al Doilea Război Mondial.
