The Minolta MC Rokkor-PG 50mm f/1.4 was Minolta's flagship standard prime when it arrived in 1973, the first 50mm f/1.4 in the MC lineup. In Minolta's nomenclature the "PG" denotes the optical layout of seven elements arranged in five groups. Solidly built in Japan with a classic all-metal MC barrel, it is prized by collectors and adapter users for its warm rendering and character. It remains one of the most sought-after normal lenses of the manual-focus Rokkor era. Mount & Compatibility This lens uses the Minolta SR mount (MC/MD series) and is a manual-focus lens for Minolta manual-focus film SLRs (SR-T, X-700, XD, etc.). Note: The Minolta SR (MC/MD) mount is NOT the same as the later Minolta/Sony A autofocus mount and will not fit those bodies. On mirrorless it can be used with an MD-to-mirrorless adapter. Important — please read carefully: This lens has haze in the rear element (please see the photos), which can reduce contrast, especially in strong light. Focus and aperture operate smoothly.
