Very rare collectors item!

Unfortunately I could not find an "Audio" CD-R or CD-RW disc (with SCMS licensing code), and I was unable to test the recording function.

★★★★★★★★★☆ (9/10)

The Philips CDR-775 is one of the most sought-after standalone CD recorders produced by Philips. Its dual-drive architecture, excellent recording quality, and robust engineering have made it a favorite among collectors of vintage digital Hi-Fi equipment.
Description

The Philips CDR-775 is a premium dual-deck Audio CD Recorder introduced in 1999. It combines a dedicated CD player and a CD recorder in one chassis, allowing direct disc-to-disc copying as well as recording from analog and digital sources. It was one of Philips' most advanced consumer CD recorders and is still highly regarded by collectors and audiophiles.

Unlike a computer CD burner, the CDR-775 was designed specifically for home Hi-Fi systems and records directly onto Audio CD-R and Audio CD-RW media.

High-speed CD-to-CD copying
Optical and coaxial digital recording
Clean analog recording
Reliable Philips dual-drive mechanism
Headphone output with dedicated level control

Like other Philips standalone recorders, it requires Music Audio CD-R/CD-RW discs for recording because of the SCMS copy-management system. Standard computer data CD-R discs generally cannot be used for recording.

How Rare Is It?

Collector's Rarity: ★★★★★★★★★☆ (9/10)

The Philips CDR-775 is considered quite rare today because:

It was produced for only a limited period.
Dual-deck standalone CD recorders were significantly less common than standard CD players.
Many surviving units have worn optical drives or recording lasers.

Among Philips' consumer CD recorders, the CDR-775 is one of the most desirable models thanks to its dual-deck design and comprehensive recording features.
