Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2013 complete runway ensemble, designed by Miuccia Prada and presented at the Palais d'léna, Paris.
An exceptionally rare full look from the SS2013 runway, consisting of the matching cropped jacket and mid-length skirt in Miu Miu's distinctive black-and-white abstract tie-dye treatment.
The set is particularly remarkable for its intentionally crushed, highly textured surface. The fabric is engineered to retain an irregular, almost sculptural wrinkled finish, giving the ensemble an intriguing resemblance to the experimental textile work associated with Issey Miyake.
This was very much part of the collection's design language rather than ordinary wear: contemporary reviews specifically noted Miuccia Prada's use of crushed fabrics and tie-dye, reappropriating traditionally casual treatments into sophisticated jackets, skirts and dresses.
The contrast is quintessentially Miuccia: an elegant, almost mid-century silhouette deliberately disrupted by a distressed-looking surface treatment. Contemporary coverage described the collection as an exploration of
