The Minolta A (1955) was the first of Minolta’s A-series 35mm rangefinders, a compact and beautifully finished camera from Chiyoda Kogaku with a coupled rangefinder and a Citizen leaf shutter to 1/400 s. It carries the four-element Chiyoko Rokkor 45mm f/3.5, an early coated Rokkor prized for its clean rendering. Fully mechanical, it needs no battery. Please check the photos for details. Optical Condition Finder: Cleaned internally; the rangefinder double image is clear. Lens: Clear — no haze, fungus or scratches. Functional The shutter, film transport and coupled rangefinder work. Measured: 1 s = 1 s, 1/60 = 1/56. Fully mechanical; no battery needed. The viewfinder and lens have been cleaned internally and the body leatherette replaced.
