An absolute numismatic masterpiece: the highly anticipated €2 Commemorative coin from Vatican City, issued for the year 2025. This stunning release celebrates the immortal genius of the Italian Renaissance, Michelangelo Buonarroti, marking the 550th anniversary of his birth (1475–2025). This piece beautifully pairs the prestige of Vatican coin minting with the grand history of world art. Key Design Features: • The Obverse (National Side): Masterfully designed by artist Daniela Longo, the coin features the majestic Dome of St. Peter's Basilica—an architectural triumph planned by Michelangelo himself—rising above the structural framework of the Sistine Chapel vault. • The Autograph Signature: Engraved vertically on the left side is Michelangelo's authentic, historical handwritten signature, "Michelagniolo", faithfully reproduced from original archival documents. • Inscriptions: Features the text CITTÀ DEL VATICANO and the dual commemorative years 1475 - 2025. Condition & Packaging: The coin is in pristine BU (Brilliant Uncirculated / Fior di Conio) condition, housed entirely inside its original official folder issued by the Philatelic and Numismatic Office (CFN) of the Vatican City State. The lot includes the protective outer matching slipcase and is completely serialized (individual folder No. 19664), guaranteeing its absolute authenticity and integrity. Rarity & Investment Value: With a strictly limited official mintage of only 70,000 pieces worldwide for the BU edition, Vatican commemorative coins remain among the most sought-after, exclusive, and historically stable assets in the entire Eurozone. An unmissable opportunity to elevate your Euro collection or to secure a prestigious numismatic investment.
