Glengyle Distillery, reborn in 2004 after nearly 80 years of inactivity, is one of three active distilleries in the historic Campbeltown region, considered one of the five official Scotch whisky regions. Originally founded in 1872, Glengyle is now managed by the same team as Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd, the makers of the famous Springbank, and produces whisky exclusively under the Kilkerran brand. Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 11 is the latest release in a series that has quickly won over peated whisky enthusiasts. Produced with a peat content of approximately 45 ppm, this whisky represents a rare combination of smoky intensity and the elegance typical of Campbeltown.
