Stefan Bügler

Many years ago, a master distiller named Florian Stetter, based in Schliersee, Upper Bavaria, began creating a Bavarian malt whisky. This unique mountain range, surrounded by lakes and clear air, was the ideal place to combine creativity and expertise to create the first malt whisky.

After several failed attempts, an outstanding distillate was successfully developed in 1999. Since whisky must be aged for three years by law, a small number of bottles were released. The edition is very limited.

SLYRS Malt Whisky is made from barley malt and clear mountain spring water from the Bannwallquelle spring at the foot of the Alps. These blends ultimately create a blend that can be considered a success: the first Upper Bavarian malt whisky.

Matured in new 225-liter American white oak casks. These give the whisky a unique color, created solely by the wood.

Recommended serving temperature: approximately +16°C in a tasting glass.
