Jingasa 陣笠 pălărie de călătorie pentru samurai - Lemn lăcuit, Metal - Japonia - Perioada târzie Edo (prima jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea)
A lacquered war hat 陣笠 (jingasa) decorated with waves and plovers 千鳥 (chidori).
Of circular form with a pointed apex and a slightly flared brim, the top is finished in glossy black lacquer and decorated in a dark gold maki-e 蒔絵 (lacquer design) with a pink luster. Showcasing a dynamic composition of turbulent waves along the rim. Above the waves, a group of Chidori 千鳥 (plovers) is shown in flight, accompanied by the Tokugawa family crest 徳川家紋 in the center: the three hollyhock leaves 三つ葉葵 (mitsuba aoi).
The interior with blue padding and cotton-filled fabric straps, secured on leather eyelets.
Complete with a fitted wooden tomobako 供箱 (storage box).
Period: Japan – Late Edo period (First half 19th century)

The Tokugawa Clan 徳川氏, founded by Tokugawa Ieyasu 徳川家康 (1543–1616), was a powerful samurai family that ruled Japan during the Edo period 江戸時代 (1603–1868). Ieyasu established the Tokugawa shogunate, a military government that brought peace and stability after years of civil war.
In a good condition with expected wear consistent with age, including minor cracks on top, cracks along edge interior and small lacquer chips. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
