Gerard Boersma (1976) - Keep It Real (painting of a man enjoying a painting by Banksy)
Gerard Boersma is known for his paintings of people in museums looking at famous paintings.
This work of 30 x 30 cm shows a man enjoying a painting by Banksy. The monkey symbolizes the downtrodden masses or the common person, while the message 'Keep It Real' serves as a sarcastic jab at a world where authenticity is often sacrificed for power and money. Ultimately, the painting is a critique of consumerism, greed, and dishonesty.
The work dates from 2025 and is made with acrylic on panel. Signed on the back and comes with a label of the artist as well as a Certificate Of Authenticity.
