Lomonosov Imperial Porcelain Factory - Serviciu de ceai (4) - Porțelan Bone - Calenda Collection

The Calenda collection bridges tradition and modernity, conceived as a graceful complement to the beloved Scarlett and Azur series, while standing firmly on its own. Designed with the contemporary Mix & Match philosophy in mind, each piece can be appreciated individually or paired harmoniously with existing collections: the cool green of pine needles resonates beautifully with Azur, while vivid red ribbon accents echo the passion of Scarlett. The name Calenda was chosen for its universal appeal. Derived from the Latin calendae—the first day of the month—it also traces its roots to the Old Slavic Kolyada, often associated with Christmas Eve. This etymology imbues the collection with a dual symbolism: festive joy and new beginnings. The decorative theme features wreaths of pine branches, berries, and ornamental foliage, referencing Western European holiday traditions while paying tribute to the artistic legacy of the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory. Inspired by 19th-century porcelain painter Fyodor Krasovsky, artist Yulia Chistyakova brings a contemporary flair to timeless motifs. Though crafted using advanced decal techniques, the design achieves the delicacy and nuance of hand painting. Drawing on her deep expertise in design and screen printing, Chistyakova personally oversaw the project from concept to production, ensuring exceptional quality, fine detailing, and subtle relief effects. Made from glazed porcelain and finished with elegant gold accents, the tea set is distinguished by its undulating cup and saucer shapes, which bring a sense of fluidity and motion to the design. The form evokes the refined lines of classical decorative arts and the opulence of imperial receptions. Founded in 1744 by Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter the Great, the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory was born of a dream: to unlock the mystery of porcelain, long guarded by the Chinese. That dream came true through the work of Russian scientist Dmitry Vinogradov, who independently discovered the secrets of porcelain production, laying the foundation for a uniquely Russian tradition of excellence. To own a piece from the Calenda collection is to hold a fragment of this rich imperial heritage—an object both functional and decorative, elevating every tea moment with historical grace. To preserve its beauty, gentle handwashing is recommended, in homage to the care and artistry invested in its creation.
