This is a promotional King Kong figure from John Guillermin's King Kong. This statue was made for promotional use during the film's initial release, likely cast from a maquette made by creature designer Carlo Rambaldi.
Made by the production and given to select cast members, this statue was never commercially available. It is estimated that only a few dozen of these statues exist, with this particular figure appearing in the photoshoot with Jessica Lange, the film's leading actress.
The King Kong figure is made of lightweight resin and is painted throughout, with detailed work notable on the eyes and mouth. Kong is attached to a wooden stand painted black, which features a bronze-plated plaque that reads 'Dino De Laurentiis presents King Kong'.
